The lightbulb for Summerstowe came about on a beautiful but frosty morning at the beginning of 2023. After working in start-ups in the Netherlands, UK and Germany, I came to the realisation that the most significant undiscussed challenge which start-ups or small businesses face in bringing their vision to fruition is culture within their teams.

Both collaboration and mindset can be the make-or-break factor as to whether a start-up succeeds. As a team, if you need to change course, do you have a culture that permits that? Do you have a sales team where ego trumps knowledge sharing? And finally, is your team aware of the problem-solving capacity of your product or service for prospective clients?
